Italia Conti has always recognised that the industry demands excellent standards of training in all areas. Our aim has always been to develop courses to fulfil these goals.
Italia Conti’s reputation is renowned throughout the World and the request for the training it offers outstretches the commuting practicalities of just a London based centre.
Demand resulted in the opening of some part-time Associate Schools throughout the Country.
No audition is required as we wish to encourage participation in the arts for all abilities.
Classes are offered to students between 3 and 18 years. Whether it’s for recreation, physical and social development or as a serious step towards a long-term career in performing arts, the emphasis is on enjoyment and first class training.
Our School delivers excellent classes all week including Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz Fusion, Musical Theatre, Acting, Singing, Lamda, Heels, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Aerial and Acrobatic Arts.
We also offer Assistant Teacher Qualifications with the Royal Academy of Dance and Acrobatic Arts.

After winning a scholarship to train at ‘The Urdang Academy’, with Leonie Urdang at the age of 11 Becky-Ann went on to train at ‘Laine Theatre Arts’ and has enjoyed a successful career as a professional dancer performing on TV, West End, Pantomime up and down the UK and enjoying many years performing around the world on cruise ships. Since retiring from performing to start a family Becky-Ann’s teaching career has gone from strength to strength. Moving to Plymouth she started teaching at many different dance schools to learn her skills in teaching children ranging from 2yrs-19yrs where she became the Principal and Ballet teacher (RAD) with Italia Conti Associates Plymouth. Becky-Ann has also been a part of the RAD International Summer School faculty for 18 years, teaching in the UK and around the world. Miss Camp also worked with Birmingham Royal Ballet as Rehearsal Assistant on their new ‘Dreams Project’ and most recently joining the Ballet Boost Associates teaching faculty in Exeter and Wales.
With over 20 years worth of teaching experience and still learning and with many successful students now Performing in Ballet companies and the West End, Becky-Ann believes it is so important to nurture the next generation and provide, by continually evolving and progressing with knowledge and care to provide the best possible training and making Dance and the Performing Arts accessible to all.

Playful and creative classes which will develop self-confidence and communication skills through the exploration of theatricality, performance techniques, stage and screen craft. Students will work with a variety of material and performance techniques, including contemporary and classical texts, devising, improvisation, camera, and physical theatre. Students are also offered to take their LAMDA qualifications and TV Presentation exams.
Among the many skills acquired when studying Aerial Arts are strength, flexibility, and coordination. Students will develop a keen sense of body awareness as they master intricate movements and poses performed on aerial silks, hoops, or Sling. Aerial arts foster creativity and artistic expression, allowing individuals to tell stories and convey emotions through their performances.
Classes that teach work ethic and class etiquette, perseverance, dedication, motivation, stamina, flexibility and strength. Ballet helps dancers grow and become disciplined. It gives students an understanding of good posture, developing technique which they will use to support all other forms of dance. Studying the Royal Academy of Dance syllabi we offer students the opportunity to take exams from Pre-Primary to Advanced 2 and Assistant Teacher Award
Working on the combined elements of dancing, singing and acting to create exciting and believable, ‘triple threat’ performances. Musical Theatre is unique to Italia Conti due to training in performance-based classes.
Students build a lot of confidence in these classes by combining acting, singing and dance skills in production numbers from West End, Broadway Musicals and films.
Teachers encourage pupils to develop and use their personalities as learning is developed across all 3 performance skills.
Group ensemble singing classes with exciting and varied repertoire from Musical Theatre, Pop and Rock. As confidence and ability grow in our safe, friendly and supportive classes, students will enjoy the opportunity to sing solo if they desire.
Acrobatic arts, is a unique blend of dance and gymnastics that offers numerous benefits for young dancers. This art form not only enhances their physical capabilities but also contributes to their overall development and well-being
Jazz Dance is the ideal way to build your all-around dance skills. It draws the best from all different styles but concentrates on the technical aspects of dance like kicks, jumps, leaps & turns.
Studying the Rambert contemporary dance syllabi which explores the quality of movement and dynamics, this class will allow students to fully connect with musicality and expression, led by experienced practitioners in a nurturing and safe environment.
Tap classes will develop their rhythm, theatricality, timing, and how to express emotion and feeling with the music. These classes will explore technique, stagecraft, teamwork, and artistry. Different styles of tap will be touched upon, with a strong element of fun. One of the main aims is to grow their self-confidence over time to perform in front of others with ease. Students are also invited to work towards and take their ISTD Tap exams.
Dancing in heels offers a young dancer a unique set of benefits and skills that can enhance their overall performance and versatility. First and foremost, it helps improve balance and coordination, as dancing in heels requires a heightened sense of stability. This challenge can strengthen the dancer’s core and leg muscles, leading to better posture and control.
These classes are designed to give the dancer style. Focussing on core strength, posture and technique, we follow the ISTD syllabus and offer structured graded classes
Jazz fusion dance combines elements from various dance genres, including jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop, creating a versatile and expressive style. By studying its technical attributes, such as intricate footwork, fluid body movements, and rhythmic precision, you will enhance your coordination, flexibility, and musicality. Additionally, you’ll learn how to convey emotions and tell stories through your movements, fostering creativity and self-expression. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced dancer, exploring jazz fusion dance will undoubtedly enrich your skill set and ignite your passion for dance.

The safety and wellbeing of our students is of paramount importance at Italia Conti Associates.
Our students are taught and cared for by experienced, trained, DBS checked staff. A minimum of two trained First Aiders are always present.
We recommend students bring plenty of water and snacks with them to sessions.
Many of our students progress onto our full-time, professional training courses. The Associate classes and courses are the perfect stepping stone for this.

This course has been devised to introduce students to the skills required, in order to pursue a successful career in the performing arts. Students benefit from a full performer’s training in all disciplines and are expected to reach a standard which will allow them to compete for full time training courses at FE or HE level. Students are especially encouraged to apply for entry into Italia Conti in Woking.
